Maintaining and building healthy muscles comes down to consuming enough protein, which is made up of smaller compounds called amino acids. Out of 20 amino acids, only 9 are deemed essential. Essential amino acids (EAAs) are those the body can’t produce on its own.
But here’s the thing. In order to grow new muscle more effectively, our bodies need complete proteins, which contain all 9 EAAs. Unless we consume all 9 EAAs, the body doesn’t have all the parts it needs to build new muscle.
